Fall is my favorite time of year, and a very active time for people who are interested in exploring Tarot Readings because of Halloween! I love the fall air, the changing colors of the leaves, and the celebration of the Autumnal Equinox, which just passed on September 23, the first day Libra and Fall!
The Tarot Cards that represent the time from the Fall Equinox to Halloween or Samhain is Adjustment Card, which is sacred to Libra, and the Death Card, which is sacred to Scorpio. And thus we adjust from the hot season of Summer, through Fall, and prepare for the darkest time of year, Winter.
As we all know, Halloween is celebrated on October 31st, meanwhile Samhain is celebrated at sunset on October 31st through November 1st. Samhain is a Gaelic celebration, which marks the end of harvest season and the beginning of the darker part of the year. Samhain was believed to be a liminal time where the spirits of those who passed and faeries were able to come into or world. This holiday was celebrated with costumes, cleansing, bonfires, feasts, and divination!
